Demonstrations

Here we have collected various programmes and applications that demonstrate or simulate the Grid in action. Some of the links give information about the current state of the Grid whilst others are links to demonstrations that were specially set up to show at a specific event such as a conference.

Grid Monitoring

	LCG Real Time Monitor Real Time Monitor This java applet monitors the worldwide Large Hadron Collider Computing Grid (wLCG) and Enabling Grids for EsciencE grids in real time. It shows how user jobs are submitted to the Workload Management Systems all over the world (triangles), are distributed to sites on LCG (circles) and then scheduled (magenta). The jobs then run (green) and are returned to the users either successfully completed (green) or failed (red).
	ScotGrid Status Gives information about the current status of ScotGrid. [Statistics]
	LHCb Production Gives the current status of LHCb Monte Carlo simulated data production.
	GridIce GridIce server collects information from the LCG/EGEE production infrasctructure such as job information, grid services and fabric monitoring data through specific sensors included in the LCG middleware.
	LCG2 GIIS Monitor A snapshot of the Grid Information System.
	Site Functional Tests This is a collection of comprehensive tests that are run daily on the certified sites in the production LCG2/EGEE grid.

Grid Demonstrations

	OptorSim OptorSim is a Grid simulator designed to test dynamic replication strategies used in optimising the efficiency of a Grid. The demonstration shows what happens to the Grid as jobs are submitted to it and our replication algorithms control where replicas of files are created and deleted.
	WorldGrid The iVDGL (International Virtual Data Grid Laboratory) WorldGrid and DataTAG demonstration.
	EDG HealthGrid A first biomedical grid is being deployed by the DataGrid IST project. Its goal is to demonstrate the relevance of the grid paradigm for genomics and medical image processing.
	Gilda Grid INFN Laboratory for Dissemination Activities. A Grid web portal demonstrator powered by GENIUS (Grid Enabled web eNvironment for site Independent User job Submission). GILDA allows you to try out the Grid to see if it is a solution to your processing problems.

Grid Maps

	GridPP UK Map This map shows the current status of GridPP UK nodes.
	LCG Map This map shows the current status of Large Hadron Collider Computing Grid nodes.
	UK e-Science Grid Network Monitoring This map allows you to access network performance data.
	Topology Network Maps These maps show the network connectivity across the Grid. The closer together the nodes, the higher the bandwidth. You can click on a node to find out what it is. It takes some time for the picture to build up and settle down. [UK Version]

Since the Grid and its associated monitoring tools are still being developed, some of the links may be down. This does not mean that the underlying Grid is necessarily down as well.
