The LHC: Smashing particles and smashing records
Wed 9 Dec 2009
Last night the LHC possibly broke another world record, colliding particles at 2.36TeV
After last week's record breaking energy level in the LHC, the world's largest particle accelerator has raised the bar again colliding beams at energies higher then anyone else. Late last night at the end of one of the runs the LHC team ramped up the energies in each of the beams and attempted to bring the together. And at 21:40 CET the ATLAS experiment recorded a candidate for the world's most energetic man made collision, 2.36GeV.

The first collision of many high energy collisions?
